Edward Jess

RANSOM- Edward E. Jess 86 of Ransom formerly of Clinton Iowa, died Monday evening (Apr. 1, 2013) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator, surrounded by his family.
Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa at a later date. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jess was born Aug. 16, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Paul and Lucille (Christofferson) Jess. He married Betty Cram, June 30, 1945 in Oakland California. His wife of sixty seven years survives.
Ed had been employed at Clinton Corn Processing for twenty five years and later in other occupations throughout the years. He attended school in Clinton Iowa. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy in the Pacific from 1943-1946.
He is survived by his wife Betty, three daughters, Betty Lou (Edward) Kopp, Englewood FL, Penny (Terry) Shields, Ottawa, Rhonda (Steve) Eckstein, Baileyton AL, two sons, Edward (Kathy) Jess, Clinton IA and Marty (Connie) Jess, Ransom, twenty two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Paula Jean Jess, two sisters, Irene Bellew, Pauline Savochka, two brothers, Harold Kropp and Carl Jess.
He was a great husband and father and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
