E. Jean Griggs

E. Jean Griggs, 72 of Streator, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator have been entrusted with arrangements.

Jean was born March 30, 1953 in Mobile, Alabama, a daughter of Ernest Edward and Katherine C. (Bradley) Ivey. She married Partick L. Griggs on August 20, 1973 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick of Streator; a daughter, April Lynn Griggs of Streator; a son, Christopher Scott Griggs of Marseilles; and two grandchildren, Edward Blake Keith and Savannah Katie (Lawrence Landen III) Lukach. Also surviving are three brothers, Kevin Ivey, Donnie Ivey and Kenneth Ivey, all of Ocean Springs, MS; and three sisters, Marlene (Tim) Buckley of Bay Springs, MS, Diana (Guy) Hardy of Ocean Springs, MS and Libby (Floyd) Maples of McHenry, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jean enjoyed raising her family and being a housewife. She found joy in planting her flowers, gardening, and decorating her home. She was a huge animal lover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
