Doris Salvati

Doris A. (Whalen) Salvati, 82, of Streator, passed away on January 8, 2017, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Doris was born on June 28, 1934, the daughter of Margaret Mary (Dunn) Whalen. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School in Streator and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1952. Doris retired in 1989 from Owens-Illinois Glass Company.

She married Alfred P. Salvati of Streator on December 31, 1986. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Doris is survived by her son Ronald J. (Kathleen) Surrock of London, England; her granddaughters Lauren Surrock of Frankenmuth, MI; Erin Surrock of Baltimore MD; her step-sons David (Donna) Salvati of Furlong PA; Daniel (Marla) Salvati of Fairview Heights, IL; her step-grandchildren David Salvati, Mia Salvati, Sophia Salvati and Olivia Salvati; and many loving relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary E. Chatwood of Peoria.

Cremation rights have been accorded.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, in Streator, on March 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:15 until time of Mass.
