Dora Lee Voytko 87 of Streator died Sunday evening (Oct. 30, 2011) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Private family burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Voytko was born Jan. 28, 1924 in Festus , MO , the daughter of Lee and Florence (Cunningham) Lock. She married John J. Voytko July 16, 1943 in Idaho Springs , Colorado . He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 2003.
Lee attended Ottawa Grade School and High School, class of 1942 and was a member the Honor Society at Everett Community College in Everett WA , graduating with an AA degree.
During WWII Lee was a welder at Seneca Shipyard and after the war was a homemaker and member of the former St. Stephen’s Church. She was also a life member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Assoc. Auxiliary and past president of the Seattle WA branch which she helped organize. In her senior years she was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She is survived by her son John Lee (Candy) Voytko, El Paso Arkansas, daughters Valerie Mundt, Fairbanks, Alaska and Michele Davis, Streator, grandmother of eight, great grandmother of eight and great great grandmother of two.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Ernest Lee, her husband and grandson Jacob Davis.
Memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492, Streator.
