David Lopez

David Vargas Lopez, 83, of Streator, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, 3:03 pm at his home in Streator.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Rosary will recited at 3:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 11:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel, Streator. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.   Memorials may be made to the family.
David was born July 28, 1933 in Valen Cianita, Guanajuato, Mexico to Narciso and Sofia (Vargas) Lopez Lopez.  He married Maria Del Refugio Cerda Granado in 1955. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2001.
Surviving are his children, Manuel (Cerda), J. Guadalupe (Cristina), Mario, Jesus Martin (Delia), Juan, all of Streator, Maria Concepcion (Le Roy) Long, of Oswego, Soledad (Brian) Holofchak, Elena (Nick) LeBeau, and Jose, all of Streator and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, Guadalupe, and Inosensio, a sister, Romana and a grandchild, Jose Guadalupe Lopez Carrillo, preceded him in death.
David was retired from Owens of Illinois, Streator.
