He is survived by his wife; his father, Bobby Henson of Manville; five children:  Dana (John) Nighswonger, Jeff (Hollie) Henson, Patrick Henson, Jamie (Brian) Lurz all of Streator and Scott (Alleigh) Henson of Normal; Thirteen grandchildren:  Jenna, Derek, Haley, Andrea, Aaron, Payton, Addison and Austen Henson, Savannah, Noah and Jersey Lurz and Brodrick  and Layla Henson; three sisters:  Deborah (Mike) Cherveny, Linda (Kevin) Wargo and Carol (Steve) Johnston all of Streator; seven brothers:  Richard (Sue) Henson of Carmi, IN, Dennis (Janice) Henson of Channahon, Daniel (Susan) Henson of Streator, Terry (Sue) Henson of Streator, Larry (Colleen) Henson of Troy, IL, Tim (Diana) Henson of Dwight and Mike (Billie Jo) Henson of Pontiac.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

David graduated from Woodland High School in 1973.  He then served in the United States Marines.  He then went to work for 7-Up and also had worked at Interlake Steel for 3 years.  He then drove a semi for R & L Transport, Calkins Trucking and Millis Transfers for 18 years.

David looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his dad, brothers, in laws and cousins.  He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Nascar fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver.  Most of all, David loved his family and spending Holidays and weekends with his large family.  He loved all of his grandchildren, but little Miss Jersey stole his heart ever since she was born premature by two months and was a little touch and go.  He developed an incredible bond with her.  Papa was her “best friend”.

David will be missed greatly by Judi and his entire family.  He will live in our hearts forever.
