Cindy S. Krasnican, 69 of Streator, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Now she has received her wings.
As Cindy had wished, a graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 12:15 PM. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Cindy was the daughter of Dale and Flossie Thompson of Streator. She was also very close with her grandparents, Axel and Louella Thompson and grandma Adie Schofield. They all preceded her in death.
Cindy attended Sreator Grade Schools, Streator High School, and North Central High School in Farmersburg, IN. She married Dennis “Kirby” Moore of Shelburn, IN in September 1975. Together they had one “miracle” son, Michael. Dennis passed away in June 1980.
Cindy started working as a waitress/server in her teens. She worked at Streator Family Restaurant for many years. There she made many lifelong friendships with owners, Rudy & Ray Useni and their families, co-workers and many customers. In her “senior” years, she would say, it was some of the best times of her working years. She even met her husband, John there. She told her co-worker, the first time after she poured him a cup of coffee, “Someday I’m marrying that guy.” On August 5, 1989 she married John Krasnican. Through that love she gained 2 more children, George and Jenny. Now her and John have a total of nine grandchildren, from “A” to “Z”.
Cindy is survived by her husband, John; her sons, Michael (Val) Moore, George (Amanda) Krasnican; a daughter, Jenny (Darren) Muntz; grandchildren, Austin, Jonathan, Izzy, and Zoey Moore, Emlyn and Kylen Krasnican, Samantha Morgan and Nichlos Muntz. She is also survived by her sisters, Shery (Tom, deceased) Phelps, and the late Vickie Dayle (Bill) Ashcraft; nieces and nephews, Heather (Brock) Emmons, Billy Ashcraft, Hannah Phelps, and Travis Phelps.
Cindy mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. In the summertime she enjoyed sitting out by the pool, soaking up the sun, with lots of talk and happiness going on with all the kids.
Cindy was very close to her sisters, her aunt Tell (Thellis Canale) and many cousins. They were always there for her. She could call/text her cousin, Linda, Lana, Luanne, Lisa & Bev, just to name a few, at any time.
Cindy loved her family; she will be missed. She always knew she was so very Blessed by our Lord.
