Charles Ehlers

STREATOR-  Charles E. “Chuck” Ehlers 84 of Streator died Thursday evening (July 12, 2012) at Heritage Health, Minonk.
Private family funeral services will be held. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements
Mr. Ehlers was born July 4, 1928 in Streator the son of John and Dora (Ray) Ehlers.
Chuck had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and at the former Thatcher Glass Co. Streator, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Philippines during WWII. He attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School. He was a life member of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492, both of Streator.
He is survived by five daughters, Evelyn “Evie” Ehlers, Dublin CA, BJ (Mike) Travers, Streator, Mary Whitney, Ottawa, Donna (Bill) McAuliffe, Gordonville VA, Lori Ehlers, Ottawa and one son, Danny Ehlers, Ottawa, one grandson, Daniel Parcher, Streator, two great grandchildren, one sister, Mima Kent, state of Washington, two brothers, John Ehlers, El Paso TX and Harold Ehlers, Streator also surviving is a special friend, Ruthie Reick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Mildred Ehlers, Frances Warren, Irene Larson and Evelyn Cota and one brother Floyd Ehlers.
