Cecil L. Hickenbottom, 80, of Flanagan and formerly of Streator passed away at 10:57 PM Saturday (December 22, 2018) at the Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

A memorial visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Saturday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  There will be no funeral services.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

He was born on August 5, 1938 in Oglesby to Cecil & Bertha Laura (Evans) Hickenbottom.  He married the former Eileen Kay Barry in 1984.  She preceded him in death on May 31, 2015.

He is survived by his children:  Janice (Brian) Lock of Streator, Virginia (Randy) Raridon of Tonica, William Treschak of Streator and Catherine (Tim) Higgins of Tonica; grandchildren:  Christopher (Sue) Hunter, Jacqueline (Ray Blameuser) Kohrt, Melissa (David Prokopec) Hunter and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He graduated from Streator Township High School.  He retired from Owen’s-Illinois Glass.

Cecil was a member the Streator Moose Family Center where he served as Governor and was awarded the Highest Achievement in office as a Pilgram, one of one three Streator Men to ever achieve it.

He was a former member of the Streator Eagles Aerie 645, bowling in a bowling league, donated blood and had volunteered at the Streator Food Pantry.

He liked wood working and fishing.
