C. Virgil Brewick Jr.

C. Virgil Brewick Jr., 81 of Rural Streator passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Arcadia Care in Morris, surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 at the funeral home with Pastor Julie Smith officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Streator.

Virgil was born October 19, 1944 in Streator, a son of Clair Virgil and Maxine R. (Morrison) Brewick Sr.. He married Karen J. Bunton on September 3, 1966 in Verona, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a daughter, Jane Lynn Brewick of Streator; two sons, Douglas (Kim) Brewick of Morris and Steven Lee Brewick of South Lake Tahoe, CA; 8 grandchildren, Carley and Gracie Brewick-Pointer, Jaren, Gavin (fiancé Josie Knepp) and Jaxon Brewick, Kaitlyn (Ty) Surman, and Tyler (Rylee) and Madison Lauterbur; and 3 great grandchildren, Charlee, Olivia and Evelyn. Also surviving is a sister, Linda (Sonny) Zdancewicz of Romeoville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Virgil was a member of the Ransom United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Ransom Lions Club.

Virgil had farmed his whole life in the Kinsman / Ransom area. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 179.

Virgil was a loving father and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and loved by anyone who knew him.
