Betty Ranger

Betty Jane Ranger 89 of Streator died Thursday evening (Aug. 11, 2011) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Todd Galyen will speak. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM -Noon Thursday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery , Streator.
Mrs. Ranger was born Mar. 12, 1922 in Manville, the daughter of William and Louise (Lowns) Hoskins. She married William Ranger July 7, 1970 in New Orleans , Louisiana . He preceded her in death Mar. 18, 2008.
Betty had been employed by and had managed several Streator businesses including Matthews Book Store. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School . Betty loved doing needlework and crocheting and gave her family many cherished items.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Madara and Marilyn Peacock, both of Streator and Maureen (Rollie) Henthorne, Keller TX , two sons, Brian (Barb) Watson and Richard Hoskins, both of Streator, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Anne O’Connell, Kinsman, also survives.
She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Kosur, two sisters, Irma Hardgrove and Marion Voss, three brothers, Robert, Earl and Glenn Hoskins.
