Bernhard Hansen

STREATOR-  Bernhard F. “Barney” Hansen 89 of Streator died Tuesday morning (Nov. 11, 2014) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Roger Hurlbut, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Hansen was born July 1, 1925 in rural Ransom, the son of Bernhard and Ella (Voges) Hansen. He married Shirley McCormick Mar. 26, 1961 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She survives.
Bernhard had been employed at Thatcher Glass Co. Streator for forty years prior to his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Streator, Lazy Acres, and the Eagles. He attended Ransom schools.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, two daughters, Patty Hansen and Lori Naas both of Streator, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Puetz, Matthew Hansen, Kelli and Michael Naas and his twin sister, Berneice (Bob) Schultz, Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Michael McIntyre, five sisters, Leona Johnson, Helen Taylor, Zelma Ekstrom, Alice Talty and Evelyn Hansen and one brother Glenn “Barney” Hansen
Pallbearers will be Elizabeth Puetz, Matthew and Rick Hansen and Doyle Cate. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelli and Michael Naas.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
