Beatrice Sopko

Beatrice W. Sopko 90 of Streator died Thursday evening (Oct. 6, 2011) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
In respecting Beatrice’s wishes, no services will be held. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sopko was born June 16, 1921 in Streator the daughter of Peter and Rose (Kolb) Wahl. She married George “Ducky” Sopko, June 29, 1940 in Streator. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1971.
Bea had been employed at Thatcher Glass Co. for nineteen years prior to her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church . She attended Streator schools.
She is survived by two daughters, Gayle (Mike) Overocker, Ancona, Georgia “GG” (Ron) Schneider, Streator, two sons, Ronald (Linda) Sopko, Worland WY and Gary Sopko, Streator, eight grandchildren, Aaron, Adam and Andrew Sopko, Anna Wright, Molly Tibbles, Cassie Ruiz, Quintin Overocker and Melanie Bakalar, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Pauline Laue, Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, Frances Gaede, Catherine Haar, Dorothy Bloomquist, Viola Werner, Marie McCumsey, Martha Hillenbrand and Loretta Wahl in infancy, four brothers, Ronald, William, Clarence and Lawrence Wahl.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital the donor’s choice.
