Barbara Wargo

STREATOR-  Barbara L. Wargo  77 of Streator died Saturday morning (Aug. 10, 2013) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Rev. Jacob Rose, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with the Rosary recited at 4:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Wargo was born Feb. 12, 1936 in Streator the daughter of Donald and Mary (Barnett) Huckins.
She married George “Dean” Wargo, Nov. 12, 1955 at St. Stephen’s Church. He survives.
Barbara had been employed as the lunch supervisor at Sherman School and had also been the activity director Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and had worked at EB Cullen Co. all of Streator. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Barbara was the secretary for Streator Youth Baseball for many years. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1954.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, one daughter, Mary Ann (Jerry Carbone) Henson, two sons, Greg Wargo and Kevin (Linda) Wargo all of Streator, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, June Verdiramo, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Huckins, both Streator as well as nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Kyle Wargo, one sister, Sandy Barton and one brother, Rev. Richard Huckins.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff and Pat Henson, Andrew, Tyler and Darin Wargo and nephew Mike Verdiramo. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson, Scott Henson, nephews, Matt and Mark Verdiramo.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
