Barbara Beavers

Barbara “Barb” Ann Beavers, 75, of Streator passed away at 11:30 AM Sunday (June 3, 2018) at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A memorial visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM Thursday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Rev. Simon Taabu will officiate.

Inurnment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

She was born on March 10, 1943 in Pontiac to Clarence & Madelyn (Enright) Guinnee.  She married James R. Beavers on August 29, 1966 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk.  He preceded her in death in 1990.

She is survived by daughters:  Jane Beavers and Sarah Beavers both of Streator; grandchildren:  Jimmy Kling, Jared & Josh Dutko and Chloe and Sammi Delahaba; a sister, Janet (Gary) Harms of Benson; a brotherin-law, John Beavers of Streator; two sister-in-laws:  Joan Pellegrini of Streator and Lynda Guinnee of Watseka, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; 4 brothers:  Bill, Tom, Michael & Jeff Guinnee; 2 sisters:  Mary Sue & Carol Jean Guinnee; brothers and sisters in laws:  Ed & Sandy Beavers, Ted & Georgia Bakalar, Joanne Beavers and Jerry Pellegrini.

She worked for St. Mary’s Home Health as a nurse’s aide for over 25 years.  She continued working as a caregiver even after retirement.

She liked playing Euchre and taking care of others.  Her philosophy was, “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life”.
